Venore é uma grande cidade de mercadores. Na estória do jogo, ela inicialmente começou com um grupo de colonizadores de Thais. Embora pertença ao Reino de Thais, Venore consegue rivalizar com essa cidade em termos de riqueza. Os comerciantes locais encontram-se associados em fortes grupos e são as pessoas de maior influência na cidade.

Geografia

Localiza-se nos pântanos em uma península a sudeste no continente principal. A cidade é construída em um nível acima ao do chão, como estratégia (juntamente com a sua localização no pântano) para dificultar o ataque de invasores.

As ruas da cidade são estreitas, o que dificulta a fuga ou o combate caso ela seja palco de uma guerra ou alguma outra luta. Pela cidade encontram-se diversos tipos de estabelecimentos comerciais, como banco, joalheria, mercearias, bar, lojas de equipamentos de batalha, de móveis, de ferramentas, de magia, etc.; contudo a média dos preços é mais cara nela do que em outros lugares (por causa dos altos impostos que ela tem de pagar a Thais). No bar subterrâneo de Venore encontra-se uma arena de combate. Essa cidade é o único lugar em todo Tibia onde oficialmente são permitidas as apostas em jogos de azar.

No pântano ao sul da cidade é possível encontrar complexos de cavernas com os monstros Rotworms e Swamp Trolls, principalmente, e uma caverna com alguns Orcs. No extremo desse pântano, a sudeste de Venore encontra-se uma outra cidade: Shadow Thorn, habitada exclusivamente por Elfos que atacam ao primeiro sinal de intrusos.

Ao norte de Venore encontra-se uma mansão habitada por um Cavaleiro Renegado da Armada Real, o Black Knight e um acampamento de Amazonas. Elas atacam quem quer que tente entrar em seu território, e é possível encontrar alguns tesouros nesse lugar.

A sudoeste da cidade encontra-se as Plains of Havoc um dos lugares mais perigosos do Tibia, com diversos monstros poderosos como Dragons, Minotaurs, Giant Spiders, Cyclops, Orcs, etc.

Economia

A cidade é uma grande produtora de especiarias, sobre as quais possui monopólio. Contudo a razão de sua prosperidade é o fato de estar no meio da rota de comércio entre as cidades de Darashia, Ankrahmun e Edron (que se encontram fora do continente principal), e as demais cidades do continente.

Venore possui conexões marítimas com todas as cidades de Tibia, exceto Kazordoon, e atua como agente entre elas: comprando mais barato de uma cidade e vendendo mais caro a outra, o que exige de Venore grande habilidade de negociações.

Ela comercializa, entre outras coisas, produtos oriundos dos Dwarfs de Kazzordoon e dos Elfos de Ab'Dendriel (incluindo armamentos), a madeira de Edron, o mel de Darashia, etc.

História de Venore

Foi construída como uma província da capital Thais, com o objetivo de consolidar o poder desta última na porção leste do continente. Com a descoberta do continente de Darama (que possui as grandes cidades de Darashia e de Ankrahmun) e da ilha de Edron, todos mais a leste, a importância de Venore aumentou pois ela passou a ser o centro de comércio com os novos locais. Com o tempo, ela foi prosperando devido ao empreendedorismo dos comerciantes locais.

O crescimento de Venore atraiu a atenção da capital Thais, que decidiu aumentar os impostos de Venore como uma forma de enriquecer o tesouro real. Contudo os comerciantes locais se recusaram a pagar mais impostos, o que levou a um desentendimento entre as duas cidades. Ambas elas não queriam um conflito armado entre elas pois isso as enfraqueceria, deixando-as mais vulneráveis ao ataque dos monstros próximos. Após vários meses de negociação diplomática, as duas cidades entraram em um acordo: Venore aceitou pagar os impostos, enquanto que o governo de Thais concedeu a ela autonomia e diversos privilégios como, por exemplo, o lucrativo direito de ser a única cidade onde o mercado das apostas em jogos é permitido.

Apesar de Venore estar oficialmente pelo controle do rei Tibianus III de Thais, na prática são os comerciantes locais que comandam a cidade. Estes trouxeram a ela muita riqueza, contudo ela apenas chega àqueles que já são ricos, e os comerciantes dificilmente abrem as portas para outros que queiram também exercer essa atividade. Com a atitude passiva do rei à cidade, tudo indica que a situação continuará assim por um bom tempo.
