Acreditava-se que causava diminuição da resistência mágica como efeito colateral (por conta da antiga descrição do item "Drinking this potion increases temporarily your magic skill while decreasing your magic defense"). Não pode ser usada junto com outros buffs temporários de magic level, como o Enchant Party (o último usado sempre prevalecerá, anulando o outro).
Somente Druids e Sorcerers recebem o efeito ao beber esta poção, embora todas as vocações possam consumi-la desde o Update de Newhaven.
