While he isolated himself, ignoring most of the talk of the others, even everyday life with all the ups and downs he did not hear from the sinister individual who entered one of their peaceful homes one night. If the others could only see, understand that he was trying to help... no, the odds where clearly against him. It was him, lonely and secluded, a mystery himself - against all the others, together. 	When he first encountered the Barkless, it was their leader himself, Leiden, who took him in. A strong, firm and glorious leader with a vision. He was promised a life of peace, recreation, even appreciation. It would not have been this life, it was already too late for that, but another, a better one. He willingly absorbed all he could from this wondrous leader. An elf himself, outcast and broken but determined to change his fate. Tigo liked that. Very much. And he showed it by helping this small community in all the ways he could. As he always did. Even back when... but that life was over now. He gladly accepted this life of hardship, pain and suffering. He was Barkless, one of them. He would be true in the end, he would get his redemption if he only worked for it. But what would he know, the few woman he laid eyes upon during his life where either already taken or would not be interested in someone like him. And how would this even work? However, the reader must understand that a real relationship is strictly forbidden amongst the Barkless. A problem in the truest sense of the word. They had to get creative. 			Depois de algum tempo ele juntou todas as informações, pelo menos o melhor que pôde sem nenhuma confirmação de fato. Enquanto ele se isolava, ignorava a maioria da conversa dos outros, até sobre a vida do dia a dia com seus altos e baixos ele não ouviu sobre o indivíduo sinistro que entrou em uma das suas casas pacíficas uma noite. O homem que simplesmente veio e assassinou um de seus próprios. O homem que tirou uma vida preciosa dessa comunidade. O homem que ele acolheu. Quando ele percebeu que ele acolheu e nutriu o que os outros percebiam como um monstro, era tarde demais. Ele nunca descobriu se o humano que ele acolheu estava confuso ou enlouquecido – era claro que ele não tinha a intenção de fazer o que fez – ou tinha? Se os outros pudessem ver, entender que ele só estava tentando ajudar... não, as chances estavam claramente contra ele. Era ele, solitário e recluso, um próprio mistério – contra todos os outros, juntos. Com suas vidas normais, suas casas, suas famílias. Agora ele estava realmente sozinho. Os guardas que o prenderam tomaram cuidado, eles nem o jogaram em uma cela mas o mantiveram na casa de guarda. Eles o deixavam viver, escolher. Por todo o bem que ele fez para a comunidade, por toda a ajuda que ele deu. Se não fosse por aquela última vez imperdoável. Ele sabia o que tinha que fazer e não hesitaria de fazê-lo. Talvez ele já tivesse tomado essa decisão há muito tempo. Como seu pai tinha tomado. Ele escolheu esquecer tudo isso, escolheu deixar. Ele escolheu exílio, a própria definição de rejeição.

			Refúgio

			Quando ele encontrou os Barkless pela primeira vez, foi seu próprio líder, Leiden, que o acolheu. Um líder forte, firme e glorioso com uma visão. Foi prometido a ele uma vida de paz, recreação, até apreciação. Não teria sido essa vida, já era muito tarde para isso, mas outra, uma melhor. Ele absorveu com vontade tudo o que pôde desse líder maravilhoso. Um próprio elfo, exilado e destruído mas determinado a mudar seu destino. Tigo gostava disso. Muito. E ele mostrou ajudando essa pequena comunidade de todas as maneiras que podia. Assim como sempre tinha feito. Até mesmo quando... mas essa vida tinha acabado agora. Ele aceitou com alegria essa vida de dureza, dor e sofrimento. Ele era Barkless, um deles. Ele seria verdadeiro até o final, ele conseguiria sua redenção se trabalhasse para isso.

			Telia

			Uma nova membra foi apresentada, que provavelmente marcou a primeira e única vez que outra pessoa capturou profundamente seu interesse. Telia era uma mulher forte, escolheu essa vida entre os Barkless por ela mesma, suas razões para sempre um segredo. O tempo passou e ela aguentou a dor e privações como nenhum outro. Pelo menos em seus olhos. Ela devia ter viajado muito para alcançar os Barkless, ela parecia diferente dos outros elfos. Até mesmo exótica de um jeito, mas uma elfa mesmo assim. Mas o que ele saberia, as poucas mulheres que ele vira na sua vida ou já estavam tomadas ou não estariam interessadas em alguém como ele. E como isso funcionaria? Essa vida que ele um dia levara, sua vida... com uma mulher? Mas essa, nova vida – essa poderia ser diferente. Ela entenderia. E de algum jeito entendeu. No entanto, o leitor deve entender que uma relação de verdade é estritamente proibida entre os Barkless. Um problema na forma mais verdadeira da palavra. Eles tiveram que ser criativos. Um olhar aqui, um gesto lá, um beijo. Só rapidamente, em silêncio. Ninguém mais saberia...

Maybe he already made this decision a long time ago. As his father did. He chose to forget all this, to leave. He chose exile, the very definition of rejection.
